Why XBL Hair Keeps Meeting UK Hair Businesses Face to Face
A supplier can send a price list from anywhere. Understanding what a salon, stylist or growing hair brand actually needs requires better questions, real product comparisons and conversations that continue after the first order.
Why return when business can be handled online?
WhatsApp, video calls and online catalogues make communication faster, but they do not automatically make product decisions easier. Two buyers can ask for “raw hair” or “a natural wave” while expecting very different colour results, density, end fullness, curl recovery, maintenance and resale positioning.
That is why XBL Hair continues to meet hair businesses in person. The purpose is not simply to show products. It is to understand how the buyer sells, which clients they serve, what went wrong with previous suppliers and what must remain consistent when they reorder.
Our August 2026 UK visit continues that work. It also reflects the vision proposed by XBL Hair founder Mary: to become a trusted supplier customers can rely on, both in terms of people and products.
A look back at our previous UK client visit
During our previous trip, the XBL Hair business team travelled with products, prepared for customer meetings and visited buyers in the UK. The short video below records part of that journey. It is a simple behind-the-scenes record, but it shows something important: wholesale relationships are built through repeated contact, preparation and follow-through—not one sales message.
What should a useful supplier meeting actually solve?
A meeting is valuable only when it reduces uncertainty for the buyer. These are the areas we believe deserve a specific conversation rather than a generic catalogue answer.
1. Product position
Is the hair intended for an accessible everyday install, premium colouring, luxury raw-hair clients, wig making or a differentiated natural texture?
2. Texture expectations
Does the customer want the visual effect of a wavy or curly texture, or are origin, processing method and raw-material sourcing also part of the requirement?
3. Lace and construction
Closure or frontal size, parting space, knot appearance, density and replacement needs should match the stylist’s installation method and client expectations.
4. Colour plan
Before promising a colour result to a client, the buyer should identify the target shade and test the selected grade instead of assuming every product has the same lifting potential.
5. Sample criteria
A sample should be washed, air-dried, combed and styled. The buyer should record shedding, tangling, texture recovery, end condition and the result after their normal salon process.
6. Reorder consistency
The first sample is only the beginning. A supplier relationship becomes valuable when specifications, feedback and replacement decisions can be traced across future orders.
XBL Hair offers six customer-facing quality levels because one grade cannot honestly serve every business model. Buyers can begin with the XBL Hair quality comparison and use the Wholesale Sample Test Package to compare options before committing to larger stock.
How UK salons and hair businesses can prepare
You do not need a long business plan before contacting a supplier. A short, specific brief produces a much better conversation than asking only for the “best quality” or the “full price list.”
Bring these six answers
- Your business type: salon, stylist, wig maker, online brand, reseller or store.
- The products you currently sell or plan to test.
- Your preferred lengths, textures, lace sizes and approximate quantities.
- Your target customer price range—not only your desired buying price.
- Any recurring complaint from your current product or supplier.
- Your intended test: wash, colour, curl, install, wear or resale feedback.
This allows our team to recommend a starting point without pushing every buyer toward the most expensive option. A salon focused on reliable everyday installs may make a different decision from a luxury raw-hair brand or a colour specialist.
The visit should be the beginning, not the proof by itself
A photograph, meeting or business trip can show that a team is present. It cannot replace product testing or prove long-term consistency on its own. After a meeting, the useful work is to document the requested specifications, select the right sample, test it under the buyer’s real process and compare the result when reordering.
That is the standard we want these UK visits to support: clearer expectations before ordering and better evidence after testing.
